Annapolis March for Science

There will be a March for Science in Annapolis on Sat., April 22. Participants will meet at Lawyer’s Mall, where the program will commence at 10:00 am. Speakers include Mary Dadone, Thornell Jones, Rob Savidge, Gerald Winegrad, and representatives of Physicians for Social Responsibility. At approximately 11:00 am, the crowd will march down Main Street to Susan Campbell Park at City Dock.

The overall message of the march is that science plays a crucial role in the lives of every American, and the administration needs to respect that role. “This is a nonpartisan march to stress the importance of adequately funded programs that advance scientific studies. We are also calling on our leaders to implement evidence-based practices and policies,” stated March on Maryland’s Executive Director, Eve Hurwitz. Ms. Hurwitz is a veteran, business owner, and mother of five.
