Pasadena, MD , February 6, 2018 – Energized and passionate about bringing Democrats together, several local residents formed the District 31 Democratic Club.  The Club meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Eastern District Police Department at 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  The mission of the Club is to foster and empower an inclusive and diverse group in order to participate in the Democratic Party and the political process. The Club has invited Democratic political candidates to speak to the community as part of their ongoing “Speaker Series”.

On Tuesday, February 27th, Steuart Pittman, County Executive candidate, will be joining their meeting to provide insight to the issues he will address as next County Executive.  Audience members will have an opportunity to hear his platform and ask questions as to how he plans to achieve his goals.  Future guests will include gubernatorial candidate Krishanti “Krish” Vignarajah on March 27th, gubernatorial candidate Kevin Kamenetz on April 24th, and gubernatorial candidate Ben Jealous (tentatively) on May 22nd.

Voter Analysis reveals a high number of registered Democrats in District 31, yet voter turn-out tends to be low, particularly for mid-year elections.  However, as seen in states like Alabama, Club Democrats say they hope to “ride the BLUE wave,” which can only be accomplished if all Democrats become engaged and vote.

If you have any questions about any of their upcoming meetings, please contact us at district31democrats@gmail.com.
