Adam DeMarco, Democratic Candidate for United States Representative from Maryland’s 3rd Congressional District, is calling on all Congressional leaders to immediately begin debate on a reinstatement of the federal assault weapons ban that expired in 2004.

“In every city, in every town, in every community, all across America, we face a harsh reality. Our public spaces are no longer the safe harbors they once were. From schools to churches, festivals to restaurants, the places we as Americans celebrate, connect, and live in have become targets for individuals that wish nothing but to reign havoc, carnage, and terror across our lands.”

The Everytown America Act is a reinstatement of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban first passed in the ‘Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994’ that expired in 2004.

“This modified act, the ‘Everytown America Act,’ will place a moratorium on commercial sales of assault weapons, halt transfers of such, and outlaw the many accessories that turn these machines into weapons of war.”

“The first step in solving any problem is first realizing that there is one; America has a gun problem.”
