June 3, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Tracye Redd, the 2017 recipient of “The Better World is Possible” Activist Award from the Washington Peace Center, will be leading this training and hosted by SURJ Annapolis. NVDA Training is an introduction to direct action/civil disobedience, which includes various types of protests such as marches, blockades, and sit-ins. You will learn the what and why for direct action; tools to use, as well as what to expect from the police, and how to be flexible in the various situations we may find ourselves in. In these challenging times, we be accountable to others we join to stand in opposition to systemic racism at protests, marches and events of civil disobedience.
