Pre-Game Planning Prepares Citizens for Contentious Council Meeting

Grasso Loses His Cool and Cuts off Speakers: Citizens Refuse to Forgo their Right to Free Speech

On Monday night, Senate Candidate for MD District-33, Eve Hurwitz, leader of Anne Arundel County Progressive Maryland, hosted civil rights leader Carl Snowden and University of Maryland law professor Mark Graber for a “pre-game” discussion proceeding Monday night’s County Council meeting.

Afterward, participants attended the meeting in the Arundel Center. There, Chairman John Grasso shut down the testimony of several citizens who were attempting to speak to Councilman Michael Peroutka’s ties to a hate group and questioning Perouka’s motivation in signing a resolution condemning hate.
